At one of the regular members’ evenings of h2-netzwerk-ruhr, Volker Lindner, as Chairman, and his deputy, Dr. Emanuel Gr\u00fcn, welcomed over 20 guests on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. The meeting point and host was the Centre for Fuel Cell Technology (ZBT) GmbH at the University of Duisburg, led by Professor Dr. Angelika Heinzel. <\/p>\n

Volker Lindner particularly welcomed the new members of h2-netzwerk-ruhr. These included Stadtwerke Essen, represented by CEO Dr. Peter Sch\u00e4fer, the AGR Group, represented by Managing Director Joachim Ronge, and Thyssengas GmbH, represented by Bernhard Koch and Dr. Carsten Leder from the Network Sales department. <\/p>\n

The Managing Director of ZBT, Professor Dr. Angelika Heinzel, and the Deputy Head of the Gas Process Technology department, Dr. Christian Spitta, presented the centre’s goals, working methods, and current projects. The focus was on a tour of a large test field for various electrolysers, compressors, fuel cells, and dispensers (for refuelling hydrogen vehicles). The test field can simulate a wide range of scenarios. In particular, the performance of the systems under load changes in frequently repeated cycles is tested. These tests are important, among other things, for the Carbon2Chem research and development project, which primarily focuses on the decarbonisation of the steel industry. <\/p>\n

The great interest of the members \u2013 a total of 17 companies, research institutions, and economic development institutions were present \u2013 was evident from the numerous questions answered by Professor Dr. Angelika Heinzel and Dr. Christian Spitta.<\/p>\n

As always, the members’ evening concluded with a get-together buffet, which served to exchange experiences and forge new networks. Dietlinde St\u00fcben-Endres, an entrepreneur from Gelsenkirchen and board member of h2-netzwerk-ruhr, emphasised that the members’ evenings always provide her with new impulses. <\/p>\n
