To jointly create the\nstructures required for hydrogen-based mobility, Bottrop, Gelsenkirchen and the lead\ndistrict of Recklinghausen are developing a regional implementation concept under the title \u201cHyExperts Region Emscher-Lippe\u201d by\nsummer 2021. It is intended to cover all value creation stages\nof future hydrogen mobility and involve as many local stakeholders\nas possible. From regional production to the use\nof hydrogen buses through to an emission-free corporate fleet:\nhydrogen mobility has many facets. \n\nBuilding regional\nstructures for climate-neutral transport based on hydrogen\nis the goal of the HyExperts Region Emscher-Lippe. An\nimplementation study led by the District of Recklinghausen and the cities\nof Gelsenkirchen and Bottrop is intended to develop concrete solutions that can also be transferred\nto other regions and to elaborate them as an overall concept. In doing so,\na wide range of aspects of hydrogen mobility will be taken into account\u2014from public transport\nto logistics and waste management through to private transport. \n\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n
As part of the concept development, the participating stakeholders\nmeet regularly in various (online) formats and discuss opportunities\nand perspectives for the region. Companies as well as municipal stakeholders\nfrom the region, various experts and best-practice projects\nare involved in this process. The process is open to further participation\nfrom the region\u2014and companies that are only just discovering hydrogen for\nthemselves are very welcome. Results are expected in late summer 2021\nand will be presented in the form of an action guide. <\/p>\n\n
The development of the HyExperts Region Emscher-Lippe as a hydrogen region\nis funded under the National Innovation Programme for Hydrogen and\nFuel Cell Technology (NIP2) with a total of EUR 300,000 by the\nFederal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure.\n\nNOW\nGmbH coordinates the funded project. Its Managing Director, Kurt-Christoph von\nKnobelsdorff, said: \u201cThe Emscher-Lippe Region positioned itself early and very\npromisingly and, as one of the first that we support as HyExperts\nacross Germany, has started with very concrete projects. The\nregion already has a clear hydrogen profile today and is successfully building on it\n. We look forward to the results of the concept development process.\u201d \n\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n
