With the further expanded funding, we are providing additional incentives for citizens, municipalities, and companies to switch to climate-friendly electric drives. In doing so, they make an important contribution to reducing pollutant emissions in our cities.”

Specifically, private individuals and companies receive up to 30 percent of the purchase price when buying an electric cargo bike; for municipalities, up to 60 percent of the acquisition costs are eligible for funding.

Landlords with more than three residential units, fleet operators with more than four vehicles, and employers with more than four parking spaces also receive attractive subsidies from the state. If they have experts create concepts for converting their fleet to electric vehicles or expanding charging infrastructure, the state pays a subsidy of up to 15,000 euros for this service.

The third new funding benefits municipalities in North Rhine-Westphalia that wish to lease electric vehicles. Here, the state covers up to 40 percent, and for fuel cell vehicles up to 60 percent, of the new price, which is paid as a down payment at the beginning of the leasing contract.

The state of North Rhine-Westphalia now offers a very comprehensive funding portfolio in the area of electric mobility in its state program “Low-Emission Mobility” for private individuals as well as municipalities and companies.

Private Individuals

Funding for charging infrastructure (e.g., wallbox).
