Member evening at KWS Energy Knowledge
Great interest in the former power plant school
The Kraftwerksschule (power plant school) in the south of Essen has existed for almost sixty years, yet it was a discovery for many participants of the h2-netzwerk-ruhr member evening. Dr. Thomas Kattenstein welcomed the more than forty members who had found their way to the idyllic Deilbach valley.
Monika Bartels, Board Member of KWS energy knowledge e.G., introduced KWS energy knowledge. She explained the recent conversion of the registered association into a registered cooperative with approximately 150 members and presented some of their seventy full-time employees, who were to accompany the member evening in the second part.
The highlight of every member evening, in addition to the presentation of the host’s activities, is a tour of the laboratories and—in this case—the power plant control room, where future power plant employees receive realistic training. Here, every type of incident can be simulated and the correct response practiced.
The professional and personal exchange over a snack is part of every member evening and was once again extensively cultivated this time.
