Hydrogen hands-on day attracts strong interest

The WiN Emscher-Lippe GmbH, the City of Herten and h2-netzwerk-ruhr e.V. hosted the Hydrogen hands-on day for the second time. This format is aimed in particular at pupils from vocational schools and upper secondary students at grammar schools and comprehensive schools.

More than 150 young people took up the offer and learned at ten stations about production, fields of application and career opportunities in the area of hydrogen technology.

The organisers were particularly proud to have secured Minister of Education Dorothee Feller as a prominent speaker to open the event. Minister Feller also clearly enjoyed the Physikanten demonstration, who introduced the topic in a playful and entertaining way with surprising experiments.

For Dr Babette Nieder, the conclusion was: “The schools’ interest was very high, and the event a complete success. We will definitely repeat it next year.”

Prominent guests at the hands-on day (l. to r.): District Administrator Bodo Klimpel, Minister of Education Dorothee Feller, Herten’s First Deputy Mayor Janine Feldmann and Dr Désirée Schulte, Managing Director of h2-netzwerk-ruhr.
