“An exciting day”

Johannes Timmerhaus praises internship at h2-netzwerk-ruhr

As part of the state programme “No graduation without a qualification”, all Year 8 students in NRW complete one-day internships for career exploration. Johannes Timmerhaus, a student at the Max Planck Grammar School in Gelsenkirchen, chose h2-netzwerk-ruhr for this. The student’s reasoning: “Last year I already wrote a project paper on hydrogen, and since then I have been very interested in this topic.”

After Peter Brautmeier, the network’s spokesperson, had provided the young man with general information about hydrogen, about the ongoing projects in the Ruhr region and about the role of h2-netzwerk-ruhr, Johannes took part in a virtual meeting of the working team led by the new chair, Dr Thomas Kattenstein. Afterwards, master electrician Manuel Bazik gave him a detailed explanation of wind power electrolysis at the H2Herten Application Centre.

Johannes Timmerhaus’s conclusion: “That was a very exciting day for me. I would like to thank h2-netzwerk-ruhr for giving me this opportunity.”
