Master’s Students Learn About Hydrogen Technology

As part of a voluntary “summer school”, a total of 50 students from the “Ruhr Master School of Applied Science” visited h2-netzwerk-ruhr at the Herten site on August 22 and 24.

The students came from various disciplines, ranging from engineers to economists and business lawyers. The group was very international in composition: Peru, Chile, Turkey, Albania, and Korea are just some of the countries of origin. In the summer school, they are working interdisciplinarily on the topic “Regional Sustainability: SMART MOBILITY”.

The Ruhr Master School is a collaboration of Westfälische Hochschule, Hochschule Bochum, and Fachhochschule Dortmund, through which these institutions aim to facilitate access to master’s degrees for their graduates.

The young people were highly interested and motivated. Following a presentation by network manager Dr. Désirée Schulte, they were guided by Peter Brautmeier through the wind power electrolysis facility and to the refueling station. They were most enthusiastic about experiencing hydrogen in real-world application during the refueling of a fuel cell vehicle and the subsequent test drive.
