Visit from Japan at the Application Center
Productive Exchange on Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology
Distinguished visit in Herten – Masaki Ogushi, Japan’s Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, visited the Herten Hydrogen Application Center together with other members of the Japanese House of Representatives. Mayor Fred Toplak welcomed the delegation and toured the wind power electrolysis facility at the Application Center with them. During the tour, the Asian guests were given an explanation of how the system works.
“The direct generation and provision of regenerative hydrogen through wind power electrolysis is a unique selling point of the Application Center. Numerous national and international companies have therefore established themselves here, and we look forward to further collaborations,” said Fred Toplak.
Vice-Minister Masaki Ogushi was particularly impressed by the information that the Japanese company Asahi Kasei has entered into a cooperation with the Application Center. Starting in February 2018, the company will test its proprietary electrolyzer development in Herten and certify it for the European market.
Another destination for the Japanese delegation was the Herten refrigeration and climate specialist “Zeller,” which presented its award-winning plus-energy property. Zeller GmbH is an exclusive partner of the Japanese refrigeration and climate specialist Athoka.
