Emscher-Lippe region successful in HyLand application

Region receives funding to develop H2 mobility

Five applicants were selected; 28 local authorities had applied: HyExpert is the sub-competition of the HyLand project in which the Emscher-Lippe region, as one of five winners, is now receiving federal funding of EUR 300,000.

The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI), through the National Innovation Programme for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NIP), actively shapes and supports the market launch of hydrogen and fuel cell applications by funding research, development and procurement projects.

The application submitted by the District of Recklinghausen, which it led under the project title “HyLandEL” for the Emscher-Lippe region, was described by the NIP jury as an “outstanding and fundable concept in the HyExperts category”. The funding of up to EUR 300,000 is intended to develop consulting and planning services for further elaborating the concepts for introducing hydrogen-supported mobility.

For Peter Haumann, the District of Recklinghausen’s head of economic development, this is a welcome confirmation of the Emscher-Lippe region’s strategy. Representatives of the district and the cities have been invited to the award ceremony in Berlin on December 12, 2019.
