DGB-Bildungswerk NRW Visits h2Herten Application Center
As part of an educational leave titled “Just quickly saving the world…”, a group of 24 from DGB Bildungswerk NRW visited the h2Herten Application Center.
Peter Brautmeier, Public Relations Officer of h2-netzwerk-ruhr, and Dr. Babette Nieder, Emscher-Lippe H2 Coordinator, welcomed the participants and brought them up to speed on the topic of “The Role of Hydrogen in the Energy Transition.”
Peter Brautmeier explained the opportunities of hydrogen technology in various application fields, with a focus on mobility. Dr. Nieder presented the h2-roadmap for the Emscher-Lippe region and showed which projects have already been implemented – e.g., the use of fuel cell waste collectors – or are well on their way, such as the “get h2” hydrogen pipeline from Lingen to Gelsenkirchen.
Subsequently, the group toured the Application Center with its wind power electrolysis and the h2 filling station.
