First H2Raum Hackathon Bootcamp in Herne

Joint ideas for innovative hydrogen solutions for SMEs

Westfälische Hochschule, a member of h2-netzwerk-ruhr e.V., is hosting the first H2Raum Hackathon Bootcamp together with Fraunhofer IEG on February 25, 2025 at the Alte Druckerei Herne. From 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, all interested parties are invited to develop practical solution approaches together with experts from academia and industry. The hackathon is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises that would like to integrate hydrogen technologies into their production processes, as well as anyone interested in the future of the hydrogen economy, such as researchers.

Solution-oriented exchange

“The hackathon offers a unique opportunity to combine practical knowledge with scientific know-how. Participants can discuss innovative ideas that are relevant in day-to-day business. One of the most important aspects is the question of costs,” explains Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Brodmann, Vice President for Research and Transfer at Westfälische Hochschule. Westfälische Hochschule initiated H2Raum together with Fraunhofer IEG.

The process: From idea to presentation

After registration and a brief introduction, the H2Raum staff will assign participants to interdisciplinary teams. These teams then each work on a task. At the end of the day, they present their ideas in a pitch session. “It will be exciting to see what creative ideas and solution approaches the participants develop in such a short time. We expect not only innovative approaches, but also the exchange of experiences and perspectives,” Brodmann adds.

Join in and benefit

Participation in the H2Raum Hackathon Bootcamp is free of charge. All that is required is an internet-enabled device. In addition to technical discussions, the event offers an excellent opportunity to build valuable networks and promote knowledge exchange.
