Climate-friendly business practices in the Emscher-Lippe region

The City of Herten and the municipal utilities invite you to a digital specialist conference on October 7

The climate-friendly transformation of the economy and business practices will be the focus of a digital specialist conference on Thursday, October 7, 2021, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM, to which the City of Herten and Hertener Stadtwerke invite you. The specialist conference is aimed in particular at entrepreneurs, business development agencies, climate officers, and interested citizens. Participation in the digital event is free of charge.

The sixth specialist conference as part of the Herten2020+ Climate Concept will take place digitally for the first time this year. Following a welcome address by NRW Minister of Economic Affairs Prof. Andreas Pinkwart, climate researcher, meteorologist and aspiring astronaut Insa Thiele-Eich will set the tone for the conference with an exciting keynote.

In four different workshops, the focus will then be on a detailed discussion of the topics of climate change adaptation, resource efficiency and circular value creation, as well as hydrogen and photovoltaics and e-mobility. Various experts will answer questions and, in addition, work with the audience to develop questions and theses for the concluding panel discussion.

Answers to questions on the strategic and regulatory framework for hydrogen—as a link between industry and climate protection—will be provided by Dr. Stefan Herrig of IN4climate.NRW and Dr. Babette Nieder of WiN Emscher-Lippe GmbH. A panel discussion will round off the programme. The panel will include Karola Geiß-Netthöfel (Regional Director, RVR), Peter Jahns (Managing Director, Efficiency Agency NRW), Volker Lindner (Chairman, H2-Netzwerk-Ruhr), Thomas Murawski (Head of Energy Industry Division, Hertener Stadtwerke GmbH) and Janine Feldmann (First Deputy Mayor and City Planning Councillor, City of Herten). The discussion will be moderated by Peter Brautmeier.
