H2 as the Energy Carrier of the Future

Entrepreneurs from the Soest District Learn About h2-netzwerk-ruhr

Managing directors and owners of fifteen companies from the Soest district have explored the role of hydrogen as the energy carrier of the future at h2-netzwerk-ruhr e.V.

In addition to questions of hydrogen production and availability, the diverse application possibilities were primarily presented and discussed. Of great interest in this context was the “HyExperts” project in the Emscher-Lippe region, which was presented by Dr. Babette Nieder from WiN Emscher-Lippe GmbH. This project focused on the applications of hydrogen in mobility. It only marginally concerned passenger cars, but rather the application possibilities for public buses and waste collection vehicles. Both are already being tested in the Recklinghausen district and in Herne.

The participants found the refueling process of a fuel cell car convincing, as it works almost even faster than with a conventional internal combustion engine.
