Third “Hydrogen Practice Day”

Recruiting skilled workers must start early

Following two successful events in 2022 and 2023, the third Hydrogen Practice Day will take place on June 19, 2024 as a joint event organized by h2-netzwerk-ruhr e.V., WiN Emscher-Lippe GmbH, and the H2 Application Center of the City of Herten. The venue will once again be the H2Herten Application Center at the Ewald future site in Herten-Süd.

At this event, the partners and several member companies of h2-netzwerk-ruhr will present themselves and their activities to students from secondary schools in the region as well as apprentices in technical professions.

A total of nine schools with nearly two hundred participants have registered. They will have the opportunity to look into the “engine room” of the H2Herten Application Center and spend approximately 15 minutes at each company, career counseling session, or H2 information station.

For h2-netzwerk-ruhr, this is an event within the framework of its educational work, aimed at recruiting skilled workers in the field of hydrogen technology at an early stage. Dr. Désirée Schulte, Managing Director of the network, explains: “Demographic change is leading to a shortage of skilled workers in all sectors. Every sector must consider how to draw attention to itself and inspire young people for the tasks at hand. For hydrogen technology, this is an absolute future industry that offers employees exciting jobs.”
